Postie Pete is excited to welcome families of all ages to the Nene Valley for a weekend centred on his Mail Trains.

Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June

Normal fares apply for this weekend. Included in your ticket are:

Pete and Ginger will be working on his Teddy Bear Mail Train Experience. Join the experience, departing from Wansford. Your trip starts with everyone riding in the mail train through the tunnel before, Pete and Ginger show you how they exchange heavy bags of mail from a moving train using the big nets on the train and on the ground! They’ll make sure all the local bears get their post!*

Travel down the line in one of our steam hauled trains, with your ticket that allows you to get on and off all day

Other attractions include:
Meet Pete and Ginger, get your photo taken with them and then have a go at sorting letters on the mail train with them!
Get off at Overton for The Night Mail Experience and Rail Mail Trail.
See some of Pete’s Mail Vans and follow our quiz sheet around to find out about the history of how Post was moved in days gone by.
Sit in the cab of a modern mail train or discover the secrets of London’s underground Rail Mail.
Mailbox arts and craft room. Designing your own railway carriage or write a letter to Thomas while he’s unwell.
See Thomas being fixed in the Railway workshop
Bouncy castle
Giant games
Stock up on the Bear Necessities at our Café at Wansford, on train buffet and new tea room at Overton.
Gift shops at Wansford and Overton.
Break your journey at Overton or Orton Mere to burn off some steam and explore Ferry Meadows Country Park.
More attractions to be announced!

*The Mail Train Experience takes around 40 minutes. After approximately 5 minutes in the mail train, then all passengers disembark and walk to our Mail Exchange Apparatus site for the main part of the show. Please be aware, this is in the open and the duration is around 25 minutes. Once everything is done you can get back on the train and have a go at sorting letters for the journey back to Wansford. Separate fares for just the Teddy Mail Train can be purchased on the day for £8 adults and £4 children.

Due to the historic nature of the mail coaches and the mail exchange location we are unfortunately unable to accommodate passengers in wheelchairs on the mail service. Wheelchair users are still able to travel on the main line train.
