Wansford Gift Shop
Our recently refurbished Wansford Gift Shop carries a wide variety of merchandise.
This ranges from specialist railway related books and DVDs through 00 gauge models from renowned manufacturer Bachmann. For the younger enthusiast we also hold a large stock of Thomas the Tank engine toys and books.
The shop is open on all operating days and we will endeavour to open on request for visitors on non-operating days.
Our Turntable Café has recently come under the auspices of renowned local Chef Charlotte Freeman.
She’s on a mission to push the café to even greater heights, offering a range of home cooked dishes made from fresh produce.
The hot dishes are not the only things that are made with the utmost attention and care. “Even things like a simple sandwich should be made using real bakery bread, not appalling supermarket white,” declaresCharlotte.
Even if you are counting calories it’s probably worth skipping a meal and then coming along in order to be able to enjoy a slice from one of her range of home made cakes. These confections were described by one recent visitor as ‘”georgeous” … Which sums it up pithily we think.
To go with the cake the café offers proper coffee from freshly ground beans or a decent cup of tea
Ever popular with young visitors are the Children’s picnic boxes include a freshly made sandwich, juice, fruit, crisps and sweet treat like a lollipop.
The café is open 7 days per week from 9am until 4:30 pm.
