We are very pleased to announce that 31271 will be working a special service at NVR on Saturday 10th January 2009. The event has been organised by A1A and should entail 9 return trips to & from Wansford to Peterborough hauling the Class 117 DMU. It is planned that there will be heating on the DMU and we hope to cover over 100 miles during the day.

The first train will depart Wansford at 0900 and depart Peterboro at 0925 with the final arrival back at Wansford around 1830. Intermediate stations at Ferry Meadows and Orton Mere will be by request.

The cost of travel during the day is £10 for adults , £5 for children and £25 for a 2 + 2 family ticket and all these tickets are valid for unlimited travel. Shareholders and non-shareholders alike are most welcome to join us!

All monies raised during the day will go towards the continued restoration of 31418 at Butterley.

The buffet at Wansford will be open for hot snacks / drinks and Real Ale will be available on the train.
