Yes, it’s the superb annual 1940s Weekend!

The era when men were men and ladies were feminine!

1940's Weekend

There will be a series of arena shows throughout each day delivering an experience of the sights and sounds of the war. These can be battles, weaponry demonstrations, demonstrations of wartime training

Entertainers on the platform both days

Displays by re-enactment groups

Speical Help for Heroes Train (both days)

Wartime dinners in the Turntable Café - inc Rabbit Pie and Spam!

Intensive train service in operation

13.30 - Firepower Demonstration
This is a loud impact grabbing demonstration featuring pistols, rifles, sub-machine guns up to the American .30cal machine gun and German MG42.

15.45 - Battle Demonstration
These are a loud, fast moving demonstration of the teamwork of ordinary men under extraordinary circumstances.

Our 1940s singers perform the classics of the day that kept the civilian spirits up during the War on the Home Front.

This show works in the manner of a fashion parade but looking at the people rather than the clothing.

14.15 - Paratrooper Talk
A 45-minute talk featuring the arms, armour, equipment and experiences of the parachute infantryman throughout Operation Overlord.The paratrooper was a new type of soldier for the Second World War with the Parachute Regiment having only been formed in 1940.

15.00 - Music and Song
